SUMMARY:Sunshine & The Silver Seams + Nathon Jones
DESCRIPTION:Sunshine & The Silver Seams are a Scottish based alternative folk duo\, comprising of the couple Jyothi Nayar and Benjamin Haynes. Support from local singer/songwriter Nathon Jones. \nA simple twist of fate landed them together one morning on Dumfries high street. It wasn’t long before they unearthed the treasure of their two voices in harmony. \nSharing a passion for music\, and with a wealth of songs written independently\, their partnership only strengthened each other’s creative output. From here a natural progression formed out of writing and performing their own original compositions as well as their renditions of classic songs by Van Morrison\, Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. This has garnered them a steady local buzz within the short time they have been working together. \nAfter releasing their debut EP – Every Cloud – on the 1st of January 2026\, they played a sold out show to the Robert Burns Centre in Dumfries to great acclaim. \nMoving forward\, the duo look to perform further afield and continue writing and recording their original music. \nProviding support will be local singer/songwriter Nathon Jones who is well-known to the music scene in Dumfries & Galloway. Nathon is currently recording his debut album which he hopes to release later in the year.

SUMMARY:Jacob Joliff With Rain Of Animals + Sarah Jane Scouten & Robbie Caswell-Jones
DESCRIPTION:Opening the 5th annual SpringGrass Bluegrass Festival we welcome the outstanding Jacob Joliff with Rain of Animals (USA/Australia/Scotland) and Sarah Jane Scouten & Robbie Caswell-Jones (Scotland/Wales) on Friday 15th May 2026 for an unforgettable concert in the Festival Marquee. \nThe euphonious collaboration between mandolinists Jacob Jolliff and Rain Of Animals (Pepita Emmerichs – fiddle\, mandolin & Theodore Barnard – guitar) brings together an explosive mix of their shared musical loves including bluegrass and irish/scottish traditions through the lense of an improvised spirit. \nAfter a spontaneous week of jamming around Glasgow and at Shetland Folk Festival in early 25’\, the trio were inspired to continue their travels and music making with a combination of their own original material and traditional songs and tunes. \nAll three members have toured prolifically with their own projects (Jacob Jolliff Band\, Oh Pep!\, Wire & Wool\, Good Guy Hank) as well as being in demand session musicians for the likes of Bela Fleck\, Yonder Mountain String Band\, Tony Trischka (Jacob)\, Fanny Lumsden\, Wayward Jane\, Luke Plumb (Pepi) and Barry Nisbet\, Harry Bird\, Stereo Naked (Theo) and it’s with this plethora of musical experiences that they will approach this adventurous new project. \nIn March 2020\, Canadian folk & country artist Sarah Jane Scouten was living in rural Scotland. With tours cancelled\, days stretched endlessly\, punctuated only by the steady unfolding of Scottish springtime\, leaf by leaf\, petal by petal. Growing up on the west coast of Canada\, to her the flora of Dumfries and Galloway was a pageant of scent and colour\, altogether new but still strangely familiar. \nThis is where Sarah Jane was initiated into herbal medicine – hawthorn\, valerian\, yarrow. The plants’ subtle power drew her onto an unexpected path. In May 2020 she applied to a professional programme in herbal medicine in the UK and qualified in 2023. Training in an entirely different field gave her perspective and space from a career in music which demands everything. It renewed Sarah Jane’s love of live performance\, which had been diminished by life on the road. Studying herbs\, and just as importantly people\, gave her music a deeper dimension and she began to write again. Now for the first time this decade\, she is releasing new music. \nSarah Jane Scouten’s fifth album Turned to Gold (Light Organ Records) is a road trip album\, drawing on Tom Petty\, Linda Ronstadt\, Emmylou Harris and Christine McVie. Opening up the record\, “Wanderlust” is a highway dream. “Wilder When I Was With You”\, with its irresistible chorus\, was co-written with Samantha Parton (BeGood Tanyas). “Rose and Carnations” is a tribute to John Prine and “The Great Unknown” reveals a family experience of medical assistance in dying (MAID). For the title track “Turned to Gold”\, Sarah Jane revisits the impact of the sudden loss of her biological mother\, exploring the theme of alchemical transmutation. Made in a heatwave in Vancouver\, she collaborated with producer Johnny Payne (The Shilohs)\, Matt Kelly on keys and guitars (City and Colour)\, Leon Power on drums (Frazey Ford) and James McEleney on bass (Andrew Collins Trio). \nSarah Jane Scouten has been nominated for 4 Canadian Folk Music Awards\, a Western Canadian Music Award and an International Folk Music Award. She has performed at Vancouver Folk Music Festival\, MerleFest\, Calgary Folk Music Festival\, Salmon Arm Roots and Blues\, Dranouter Festival\, Maverick Americana Music Festival and more. She has opened for Corb Lund\, William Prince\, Ron Sexsmith\, The Sadies and shared the stage with Martha Wainwright\, The Strumbellas\, Allison Russell\, Martin Carthy\, Mandolin Orange (Watchhouse) and more. According to CBC q’s Tom Power\, “Stan Rogers was able to do it\, Ron Hynes was able to do it\, Kate McGarrigle was able to do it – and Sarah Jane Scouten is able to do it.” \nAccompanying Sarah Jane is Robbie Caswell-Jones\, a Welsh guitarist specialising in bluegrass flat-picking. He is a staple at bluegrass festivals throughout the UK and Europe including Herbe Bleue\, La Roche Bluegrass\, Gainsborough Festival and Didmarton Festival. He played on Sarah Jane Scouten’s 2025 EP Transmutations.

SUMMARY:Pyroclast + Borderline
DESCRIPTION:PYROCLAST + Borderline \nPYROCLAST is a Glasgow-based metal band that blends the fire and fury of old-school heavy metal with the precision of power metal and the intensity of modern thrash. Supporting is Gretna/Annan based band Borderline who specialise in rock and blue covers. \nSoaring vocal melodies collide with harmonised twin-guitar leads\, driving rhythms\, and anthemic choruses\, forging a sound that is both relentless and cinematic. \nOver the past few years\, under their former name TANTRUM\, the band evolved from a local underground act into one of the UK’s fiercest independent metal bands. Their third album\, No Place for the Damned\, marked a seismic shift—heavier\, more intricate\, and critically acclaimed\, earning 10/10 reviews and heavy airplay for singles “The Darkest of Times” and “W.A.I.L.” In 2025\, the album was re-released as No Place for the Damned Redux MMXXV under the PYROCLAST name\, with redesigned artwork and remastered audio\, cementing the new era. \nSupporting is Gretna/Annan based band Borderline who specialise in rock and blue covers. This is the first time the band have played at The Vault but Marcel and Steve have played in another band -Reiver- and Jason was our first sound engineer for the rock nights! It’s only Sophie who has not been before! We look forward to welcoming them all !

SUMMARY:Darach - Independent Venue Week
DESCRIPTION:Darach\, the acclaimed duo of Galician producer Hugo Franco and Scottish violinist Roo Geddes\, is creating an innovative musical conversation between their respective Celtic cultures. Part of Independent Venue Week. \nDarach independently recorded\, mixed\, and mastered their critically acclaimed debut album\, achieving immediate international recognition without the support of agents or promoters. This self-made momentum led to a remarkable first year\, which included winning the Danny Kyle Award at Celtic Connections and securing main stage performances at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in France and Festival Ortigueira in Spain. Their live reputation was cemented by a sold-out debut at Glasgow’s Gathering South Sessions ( Folk Club of The Year 2025)\nRoo Geddes\, a BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2025 finalist\, is the first violinist to complete a Jazz Masters in Scotland and serves as a lecturer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He was awarded a teaching diploma (with distinction) from the ABRSM and works with programmes like El Sistema and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. Hugo Franco is an accomplished Galician guitarist and producer\, rooted in traditional music but known for blending genres from Bluegrass to Trap\, and is a vital element in the Spanish folk scene through his work with E-Trad and Marc Xarau. \nDarach’s momentum shows no sign of slowing\, delivering workshops for NAFCO (Scotland) and Crisol de Cuerda (Spain). They are currently embarking on a major tour which includes a triple-bill of performances at this year’s Celtic Connections followed by a tour of Scotland\, England and Wales alongside Thorpe and Morrison\, with plans for a significant Pan-American tour to follow\, bringing their music to audiences from Mexico to Costa Rica and Brazil.
