DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to announce that In Our Region is coming to life as a pop-up exhibition in The Stove Network in Dumfries.Through open conversations and powerful image-based storytelling\, the project connected with four young people from across the region to explore identity\, belonging\, lived experience\, and what young people truly need from the places they call home. \n📍 Join us at The Stove Network\, 100 High Street\, Dumfries\n🗓 Tuesday 7th April\n⏰ 5.30pm – 7.30pm \nThe exhibition will feature: \n• Photography by Rhys Robert Thomson\n• Interviews with Jamie Morrison\, Adam Molyneux\, Eden Beck\, and Josh White\n• Perspectives from Sanquhar\, Whithorn\, Annan\, and Kirkcudbright\n• FREE refreshments\n• Space for conversation and connection \nThis is more than an exhibition it’s a chance to listen\, reflect\, and celebrate the voices shaping our region’s future. \nWe’d love to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to WRITE! Join us at our monthly creative writing workshop with author Karl Drinkwater. \nWRITE! is all about letting your imagination guide your hand. In each session\, we’ll chat about a writing-related topic\, then provide prompts and a theme. Then\, attendees are allowed to write based on the inspiration. It might be a character sketch\, a piece of description or dialogue. The key thing is that it will be your words. They’d never have been born if you’d stayed at home that night. \nThe short piece you write could be practice or a creative outlet. However\, it could become the seed of a short story or part of a longer work. We end each friendly and informal session with the opportunity for some people to read out what they wrote\, as a celebration of the new words. \nSessions are expertly guided by thought-provoking prompts\, offering dedicated time for free-flowing expression. Afterwards\, participants have the opportunity to share their creations within supportive groups. They can receive valuable tips to enhance their writing skills and boost confidence. Whether you’re rediscovering the joy of the creative process or seeking inspiration for your existing project\, Write fosters a collaborative and experimental environment. Fuel your next big project with the friendly encouragement and creative energy that defines Write. \nOpen to: everyone! It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never written anything before or if you’re an established author looking for a brief shot of espresso creativity. It’s not a course\, so you can attend any or all sessions\, as you wish. \nSo come along. We’ll provide the inspiration and a supportive group of new friends. SUMMARY:Write! The Anthology Launch
DESCRIPTION:The Stove Network is publishing a book! Coming at the end of January is the launch of our ‘Write Anthology 2026’\, produced and printed at our very own Print House. We look forward to welcoming you to an evening of celebration of all things Write\, The Print House & – most importantly – what can happen when folk get together\, get creative & get putting pen to paper!\nEach month in the Stove Cafe\, author Karl Drinkwater hosts a creative writing workshop: WRITE! Sessions provide dedicated time to be creative in a short and inspirational burst of free-flowing expression\, surrounded by friends.\nThere is such a wealth of talent on display every month that we decided to compile a tiny fraction of the creative work that has come out of WRITE! sessions. This book showcases the creativity of those who take part. \nSo pull up a seat and enjoy a wide range of poetry and prose. There will be refreshments\, opportunity to purchase a Limited Edition copy of the anthology\, and readings from the authors. What’s more\, the book includes the prompts that inspired the writing\, in case you want to use it as inspiration for your own work! \nTickets are free and you can reserve a book with your ticket. Books cost £15 each on the night.
