DESCRIPTION:Join songwriter Lou Mclean as she leads a creative workshop & gig designed to teach participants about Scotland’s rich history of women songwriters\, and explore what ‘women’s work’ means to you. From the waulking songs of the 1800s to present day\, working class women have been underrepresented in Scottish songwriting history. This workshop is designed to empower people\, women and girls in particular\, to tell their stories through song\, and follow in the footsteps of our unsung heroines.\nThis event provides a space to share ideas and build community through songwriting and paper collage tasks.\nAfter the workshop\, there will be a acoustic performance from Lou’s newly released debut album: ‘outline of a girl’. \n“Lou Mclean is Brilliant” – Jim Gellatly\, Amazing Radio.\n“An anthem if ever I heard one” – Ali\, Scots Whay Hae.
