SUMMARY:Grassroots Heritage in Scotland Southwest Roadshow
DESCRIPTION:The Scottish Community Heritage Alliance’s Grassroots Heritage in Scotland Roadshow is coming to Southwest Scotland on 7th March. Over the course of the last year and a half\, the roadshow has travelled the length and breadth of Scotland\, engaging with grassroots community heritage groups to identify the issues affecting them and the help they need to secure their future. The Southwest Roadshow 2026 will be the final of these. It will be held at The Glentrool Hive\, near Newton Stewart\, on Saturday 7th March\, 10am-4pm. \nThe roadshow features talks\, a workshop on heritage resources and a discussion session on topics chosen by local heritage groups. Heritage groups are also encouraged to take a stall to display their work and provide a point of contact for meeting people. \nAnyone who works in or has an interest in heritage is welcome to attend. The day is entirely free and lunch will be provided. \nOur three fascinating talks for the Southwest roadshow are:\n● ‘The Mill On The Fleet: Challenges and Overcoming Them’ by Barney Fryer\n● ‘Archaeological Research Frameworks & How To Use Them’ by Tom Rees of\nScARF\n● ‘Archives & Archaeology: Delving Into The History Of Carsphairn’ by\nCarsphairn Heritage Initiative \nFor more information and to register for the roadshow\, please visit our Eventbrite page or email scottishcommunityheritage@gmail.com. \nThis event is part of the Grassroots Heritage in Scotland project\, funded by Historic Environment Scotland and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
