The Silence Of Snow: The Life Of Patrick Hamilton

Thu 30 April @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

More Info & Booking

THE SILENCE OF SNOW: THE LIFE OF PATRICK HAMILTON is a solo performance by Mark Farrelly. Mark vividly portrays the life of Patrick Hamilton, a successful but troubled writer. Hamilton was one of the notable writers of the inter war years, producing hit plays – Rope and Gaslight – and classic novels. He gave us the term ‘gaslighting’.

The play explores Hamilton’s life and his complex character through a mix of humour and tragedy. It features his struggles with alcoholism, his relationships and his literary career, ultimately leading to an examination of the human condition and the challenge of self-knowledge. Set in an electro-therapy clinic in the 1950’s, the play captures Hamilton’s inner turmoil and the impact of his work on his life.
