The Painted Space with Bella Green

Sat 21 March @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

More Info & Booking

In this workshop, you will explore what is known as ‘visual perspective’ using tone, colour, scale and texture and see how it works in painting. You will get to know the nine main guidelines for creating deep or shallow visual space. These useful guidelines are applicable to any medium or any style of painting from highly representational to totally abstracted.
You will come away with a greater understanding of creating ‘visual perspective’ in your work, and how all subject matter – landscape, still life, or portrait, may be interpreted in many ways depending on what you want to express. You will have a series of studies to refer to and the beginnings of how these guidelines may be applied in a more considered piece of work.

Who is it for and recommended medium
The workshop is suitable for all levels of experience – if you are just beginning, and would like to learn these useful guidelines, or if you are a more experienced artist who would like to refresh this skill of picture making, you are welcome.

Any medium is suitable, but acrylics, gouache or pastel are probably the most useful for the class. Bring your favourites, and two or three photo references. A full materials/equipment/references check list will be sent to you by the tutor on booking.
