Guid Nychburris Parade

Join thousands of spectators for one of the highlights of the Guid Nychburris celebrations as the annual Guid Nychburris Parade makes its way through the streets of Dumfries on Saturday 20th June.
The parade sets off from Newall Terrace at 5pm and winds its way around the town before returning to its starting point. Expect a colourful spectacle of decorated floats, walking groups, cyclists, horses, community organisations, local businesses and entertainers, all coming together to celebrate Dumfries’ proud traditions and community spirit.

BEATING RETREAT
The Beating Retreat Ceremony will take place on Buccleuch Street immediately after the Parade.
Pipe and Brass / Silver Bands will join together for this special spectacle of Guid Nychburris.
Presentations will be awarded to The Best Dressed Band in Parade and The Most Musical Band on Parade during the ceremony.
Provost Tracey Little will take the salute at the end of the Ceremony to bring Guid Nychburris 2026 to a close.
