‘Fruandes’ – a dried fruit company in Colombia – was started by a fruit farmer to employ single mothers in desperate poverty forced to leave their homes during troubled times. Two decades on, Fruandes generates income for 15 smallholder associations. Hear some of the challenges they have overcome.Taste some of their dried fruit including varieties you may not have heard of. Learn how they make a healthy tasty snack and how to use them in cooking. And ‘Fruit Aficionados’ – those who really love their fruit – can directly help the smallholders by purchasing a case of fruit or sharing it between friends!
